SANTA MONICA, CALIF. - June 21, 2022 - KRAFTON, Inc. recently announced that Team United Kingdom (UK) defeated 15 other regions to be crowned the second-ever PUBG Nations Cup (PNC) champion at the ICONSIAM in Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday, June 19. The roster (Alex "vard" Gouge, Christopher "Fexx" Wheddon, Luke "TeaBone" Crafer, Michael "mykLe" Wake and coach Justin "MiracU" McNally) finished in first place with a total of four Chicken Dinner wins, 126 eliminations and 203 points to claim $100,000 after four days of PNC 2022 action. The team will also receive additional winnings from the Pick’em Challenge activation.

The tournament was made up of regions from Europe, Asia, Asia Pacific and the Americas, and featured a total of 64 players with 16 coaches. Team UK were followed by Vietnam, Brazil and South Korea who claimed $58,000, $54,000 and $44,000 of the $500,000 prize pool. Team United States finished in ninth place with 95 total points and collected $22,000.
PNC 2022 followed the ‘point rule’ structure that combines elimination points and placement points. There were five matches per day with a total of 20 matches played between Erangel and Miramar. Team UK collected the most overall points after the 20 matches and were crowned the PNC 2022 champion.
What’s Next for PUBG Esports 2022
With the second-ever PUBG Nations Cup completed, fans and teams alike can look forward to the second phase of ESL PUBG Masters occurring in July where the event will award $50,000 USD in prize money, along with PUBG Global Championship (PGC) qualification points. Following the second leg of ESL PUBG Masters, PUBG Continental Series (PCS) 7 Americas begins in August and will follow the same format as PCS6 Americas. PCS7 Americas will be broken down into Open Qualifiers, Regional Playoffs, a Last Chance Qualifier and the Grand Final. The Grand Final begins in September and it will be a two-weekend, five matches per day finale with a cumulative SUPER Point Rule leaderboard spanning all 30 matches. The highest point earning team at the end of the 30 matches will be crowned champion. The winning team takes home the largest share of the prize pool money, as well as PGC qualification points.
