KRAFTON, Inc. and ReLU Games today released Off the Rails, the second major update for MIMESIS, the four-player co-op horror game from KRAFTON creative studio ReLU Games. Arriving as MIMESIS marks one year in Early Access, the update expands the game’s AI-driven social deception with a new Paranoia system, enhanced Mimesis behavior, a new film studio map, additional monsters and equipment, and anniversary events.

MIMESIS is an AI-native co-op horror game where players must work together to survive while trying to identify an AI-controlled entity hiding among them. Known as the Mimesis, the creature mimics players’ appearances, movements, behavior and voices in real time, secretly blending in with teammates and creating tension and distrust as players try to determine who can be trusted.

New Paranoia System Makes Players Question What Is Real

The new Paranoia system adds another layer of uncertainty by changing what individual players see and hear based on their contamination level. As contamination increases, one player may see a Mimesis that is completely invisible to their teammates or hear voices that no one else can hear.
By giving players different perceptions of the same situation, the system is designed to make communication and trust even more important as teams attempt to separate real threats from hallucinations.

The Mimesis itself has also been upgraded to better observe player habits and react to its surroundings. The enhanced AI allows it to imitate player behavior more naturally, creating more convincing deception and less predictable encounters as teammates work together to identify the impostor among them.

Explore a New Film Studio Map

Off the Rails also introduces a new map set inside a film studio. Unlike existing locations, the map creates a more seamless environment without the usual separation between indoor and outdoor areas, beginning with a crash-landing sequence that sends the team’s tram somewhere it was never supposed to go.
The update expands the game further with new monsters, Scrap, Service Stations and equipment. New gear can increase inventory capacity or help players communicate with teammates, while new traps create additional strategic options. The game’s user interface has also been overhauled to improve usability.

Celebrating One Year in Early Access

To mark MIMESIS’ first year in Early Access, players can generate a personalized Survival Report based on their gameplay history and receive a commemorative anniversary skin.

MIMESIS is also participating in Steam’s Scream V Halloween event with a 60% discount from October 27 through November 3, its largest discount since launch. Pre-orders for new MIMESIS merchandise also open October 27 through EBTEN.
The anniversary follows a year of milestones for MIMESIS. The game surpassed two million copies sold worldwide in June and became the first Korean game to receive an Excellence Award in the Game Design category at the CEDEC Awards 2026, recognizing the creativity and technical execution behind its AI-driven gameplay design. MIMESIS also continues to hold a “Very Positive” user rating on Steam.
